Underpinning Leicester
Our client was redeveloping a hospice and during the course of their works identified the need to underpin the existing building using traditional methods. The underpinning was unplanned and therefore had the potential to cause delays and ultimately costs. Colwin Group were appointed to undertake the traditional mass concrete underpinning and worked alongside the contractors on site to ensure that that the ongoing construction project was not delayed. Access was removed mechanically in hit and miss sequence allowing multiple underpinning bays to be installed at once. High water tables that causing flooding of the excavations were controlled using submersible pumps.
